See the impact of your work in the eyes of every animal we help.
We call ourselves #TeamBVSPCA. We’re passionate animal advocates deeply committed to our work and continuously innovating how we do that work. We say our organization is a lot like a start-up company, except the main mission is saving lives. The pace is fast, collaboration is key, and results matter. It’s hard work with big rewards in every life you save, every pet you help, every family you help.
The Clinic Receptionist works directly with the public to address their needs on the phone or at the Animal Health Clinic. The compassionate care of clinic patients during scheduling, check in and check out will be utilized to provide exceptional customer service. With guidance from the Director of Operations and Practice Manager, the clinic receptionist will address any concerns or questions from the public to ensure they have a positive experience at the BVSPCA.
The Animal Control Officer (“ACO”) is responsible for protecting the safety and rights of the public and welfare of animals.
The Animal Care Attendant is responsible for cleaning and providing humane care to the animals in the BVSPCA custody and to assist all stakeholders in a professional and friendly manner when needed.

You strive to understand and appreciate the feelings of your colleagues and our clients, seeing through the eyes of another. You’re not judgmental of others.
You’re excited to be part of #TeamBVSPCA and model that in your daily actions and behavior. You are good spirited, and warm and friendly to colleagues, volunteers, and community. You seek out new challenges, take initiative, and go the extra mile.
You can always be counted on to “do the right thing.” You lead by example with honesty and accountability. You earn respect of your colleagues by treating everyone with respect.
You demonstrate cost consciousness with respect for donated dollars. You adapt well to change and help your colleagues do the same. You see challenges as opportunities for improvement and offer solutions.
You’re committed to our mission, seeking out ways to contribute more in your role. You seek to understand our clients and their needs. You value, thank, and appreciate your colleagues and our volunteers.
Must love animals! Sure, that seems obvious, but you need to really love animals. It's not all puppies and kittens, although they are a big perk. The work can be hard, physically and emotionally, but the rewards are huge.
And people, too. We believe deeply in the human/animal bond, so our work is about helping people as much as it is helping pets. This could be adopters, pet families visiting our clinic, or community supporters.
Ready for a challenge? The employees who thrive in our organization rise to the challenge, from stepping up to help in a natural disaster to taking the extra time to figure out how to help a frightened dog or cat feel safe.
Self-starters wanted! We believe there are always more ways to help save lives. We need folks who take ownership of their role, break down barriers, and bring new ideas. In return, we offer virtually endless learning opportunities and prioritize career growth from within the team.
